Congratulations to the Ghana Journalist Association, Award winners and all journalists for a good work done last saturday.

I was really impressed after watching the 15th GJA awards.

I would like to commend everyone but most especially Samuel Agyeman for winning the overall award. He should keep it up; more grease to his elbow.

I would also urge all reporters, newscasters and journalists to register and join the GJA. Being a reporter without being in GJA is like winking at a girl in the dark. You only know what you are doing but nobody else does.

Journalists should be accurate in their reportage to enable them maintain peace and stability in the country rather than causing fear and panic to the nation. They should also make sure that their problems raised have been solved by any authority who is in charge of that.
All I say is "Ayeekoo" to all journalists, we look forward to expect great things from them. Congrats

SWITCH OFF THE STREET LIGHTS DURING DAY TIME

I would like to know who is in charge of switching on and off the street lights.
I have realized that, the lights are always on during day time and sometimes on the whole day. Especially the street lights on the Ridge Area: 54 Obasanjo road, the lights have been on for a couple of time now.
This also contributes in a high percentage of the increment in electricity.
First of all, I would like to know who is or are in charge of that. I am sure that the problem is not only in Accra but also in every part of the Country. I pray that the situation being raised would be taken into consideration.

STOP UNNECESARY BURNING

It is good to burn certain unwanted susbstances but too much of that is very bad.
People burn their rubbish even on the pavement. This act is very risky. Khebab sellers are also contributors of such act.
Fumes from vehicles and chimneys of factories produces carbon dioxide(CO2) gases into the atmosphere. This has depleted our Ozone layer which prevents dangerous rays from coming down.
The destruction has resulted in strange conditions where man can simply not keep with the daily occurrences the weather brings. This has brought about harsh environmental conditions such as the unpredicted fall of snow in the European countries, the unreliable rainfall pattern and others.
Due to the human actions, the environment has lost it’s ability to sustain the life of humans and other living creatures.
Burning is very harmful to living things. As we give out oxgyen in order to obtain carbon dioxide and vice versa to the animals and plants, need to burn when necessary to avoid harmful air-borne diseases. There’s not a single day that someone would not burn, either rubbish or anything.
We should conserve our forest to help control the Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC) in the atmosphere.

BEWARE OF HIGH HEELS

If you love to be seen in high heels, then it is time to sit down and think twice. If a person regularly wears high heels, she will end up having change in the muscles and tendons of the legs. Ladies, especially models, beauty queens and corporate workers are mostly seen in high heels.
The change will be so dramatic that the person will experience pain when she wears flat heeled shoes or walks bare foot which most females have experienced it.
It is advisable to wear a mix of flat heels and high heels. Research indicates that it can cause multiple problems like bunions, spraining the ankles, hammertoes, pain in the lower back, knee and calf problems.
Wearing extremely high heels can cause the ligaments in the ankles to snap or it can cause fracture of the bones in the feet.
My advice to all females especially those who are fond of wearing high heels is that, they should reduce the often wearing of them.
